For this recipe you’d need the following ingredients. However, it is worthy of note that baked chin chin is not quite different from its fried counterpart. The difference is the fact that it’s baked.
3 cups of flour
1/2 cup of sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup of milk
1/4 small size nutmeg seed
150g Margarine
1 tsp of Baking Powder
1/4 tsp Salt
Procedure
Brush your baking trays with butter
Preheat oven lightly for about 3mins
In a medium bowl, sift flour & baking powder together. Add sugar, salt & nutmeg, & mix together.
Add egg & rub in margarine the mixture till it looks like bread crumbs.
Add milk bit by bit till a smooth stretchy but not sticky dough is formed during this process.
Flour a flat surface, take out some dough & roll flat but not thin on a worktable or wooden table , about 1cm thick. Using a knife or pizza cutter cut out the shapes.
You can cut into square or rectangular shape. Repeat method for the remaining dough.
Place the cut out dough on the baking tray(remember your tray is greesed with butter )& bake for about 5minutes or till crisp on the outside. You can also fry instead of baking, your choice but to save cost of Groundnut oil, bake.
