Dates are highly rich in micronutrients such as selenium, manganese, magnesium, and copper. These micronutrients help in the development of your bone health. Dates can be one of the most important supplements to your diet if you are suffering from bone problems.
Not so many people are aware of the many things one can make with dates. Yes! You heard me right, from syrup to powder, the list goes on and on.
- Wash to remove dirt and dust
- Deseed: open up to remove the seeds
- Sundry, oven dry, or use a dehydrator if available
- Grind to powder: use the mill part of your blender if you’re making a small quantity but if plenty, take it to the mill.
- Sieve and re-grind until you get a very fine powdery texture. Still, keep whatever granules that cannot be further ground. Still useful.
- Store in an airtight container and use in place of sugar.
Please Note: Date is highly nutritious compared to white sugar as it still contains its natural fiber, minerals, and antioxidants. It can be used in place of sugar for baby foods, pastries, paps, smoothies, etc.
Also, ensure to use it in moderation because it is still sugar.
