Chef Hilda Baci, from Nigeria, has responded to fans’ worries after removing her social media bio from the title of “Guinness World Record holder.”
Even though Irish chef Alan Fisher overthrew her in the competition for the title of “longest cooking marathon (individual),” Baci continues to set records in the culinary world.
In a moving post on social media, Baci said that she updated her bio to show her successor the same respect that her predecessor, Chef Lata, had shown her when she was overthrown.
She remarked, “I’ve changed mine too, just as Chef Lata politely acknowledged the new record holder by updating her bio and then fine-tuning the language.

I can attest to the fact that setting such a record is no small accomplishment. I am incredibly grateful to Alan for all of his hard work in reaching this level of success. Recognizing improvement is part of being a sportsman, whether or not the achievement is listed in my bio. In both history and spirit, I continue to hold records. Let’s honor accomplishment and the spirit of rivalry.
Even though the official title may no longer exist, Baci’s reputation as a record-breaking chef endures in Nigerian history.
